I leave in 12 days. I am leaving my beloved country in a dozen days and embarking on what I hope will be an epic adventure. OK, that sounds a little overstuffed. But there’s no way to describe what I’m doing that doesn’t sound overstuffed, so here goes. I’m taking a leave of absence from work, starting a Masters program conducted in 6 countries over the next 11 months, and traveling as much as possible along the way.
Most of my earthly possessions were donated or put in storage; my apartment lease is up; and I’m in the process of selling my car. I’m only taking what will fit into a carry-on suitcase and my “personal item,” but that’s just the “stuff” side of things. There are so many other angles to this experiment that I haven’t even considered: the new people I’ll meet, the new places I’ll see, the experiences, the lessons, all of it. I’ll do my best to put it all into words and share here. And there will be pictures. Stay tuned.
