The road up to and back from Cape Reinga is filled with beautiful views of beaches, fields and volcanoes. We were lucky to get to stop at a few of the beaches and explore a bit. Our lunch stop was low-key but perfect: a little beach cove and a fish & chips picnic. I love Christmas dinners at home with family – my aunts, uncles and mom are all amazing cooks (OK, just two uncles) – and there’s no substitute for that. But when you’re far from home, a great setting and tasty food work, too. Enjoy the pictures.
